Dell OME Appliance not able to reach Catalog page
We have a Dell OME appliance console version in our environment Version 4.0.1 (Build 29). We found that catalog page is not reachable . The catalog link we have mapped is downloads.dell.com/catalog/catalog.gz. When we tested connection its not successful. With help of this link "https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/dell-openmanage-enterprise/one-or-more-online-catalogs-could-not-be-downloaded-successfully-due-to-network-issue-or-invalid-file-or-sign-check-failure/65b2d089a45eef362cab6dee" tested connection with link provided https://downloads.dell.com/openmanage_enterprise/ - Failing
https://dl.dell.com/openmanage_enterprise/ and https://downloads.ins.dell.com/openmanage_enterprise/ - Successful. Need to know if anything else we missing ..We are checking our Network part on this.

Hello,
Can you get to this:
https://downloads.dell.com/catalog/catalog.xml.gz
From my side the links come up.
Was it working and now does not work?
Were there any changes made around the time the issue started?
Clear browser cache
Try different browser
See if you have the open ports and firewall:

Been trying to use firmwares downloaded in a network share in environment. My doubt is we can use a regular firmware iso or Exe to be mounted in catalog management from share or only .xml files alone? Talking about a CIFS or NFS share usage here.

Hello,
You would use a catalog.xml
Under Network Path, Fill out the fields you have in your image this way:
NFS
10.200.0.170
F$\Cycle7\R340\catalog.xml
Don't put the IP on both lines.
You would build your catalog with your custom added exe files with Dell Repository Manager.

So we cannot mount a firmware EXE from share directly! Any documentation how to build catalog with downloaded exe?

The link provided has catalog for servers firmwares. What about model specific firmware version to be installed. How do we modify catalog in that case?

Hello,
I sorry I'm not understanding.
What other repository are you referencing?
If you are asking what Share type you can use they are listed:
NFS
CIFS
HTTP
Check these directions Page 121-122

My doubt is to use these NFS \ CIFS \ HTTP shares in OME, Dell Repository manager need to be installed or not needed? Will these shares work even without Dell Repository manager also?

Hello,
OME has default catalog that gets updated every Monday that you can use online or download to a Share you can reach from OME. So you don't need DRM for that. The Share will work without DRM.
Dell Repository Manager (DRM) is to make custom catalogs to use in OME. Then you have to host the catalog on a Share that you can reach from OME.
See if this helps from page 121:
Manage firmware and driver catalogs
Use firmware and driver catalogs (a collection of update packages) to create a baseline and check baseline compliance.
Catalogs are bundles of firmware and drivers based on device types. All the available catalogs (update packages) are validated and posted to Dell.com. You can use the catalog directly from the online repository or it can be downloaded to a network share.
Using these catalogs, you can create firmware/driver baselines for the discovered devices and check their compliance. This reduces the extra effort of administrators and device managers and also reduces the overall updating and maintenance time.
Administrator users can view and access all the catalogs in OpenManage Enteprise, however, device managers can only view and manage catalogs that they created and own.
