EEMI Code: CGEN1009- SMTP Discovery is not working- Dell Switches

Hi Everyone,

We recently started using OpenManage and configured SNMP on our N-series Dell switches to enable discovery by OpenManage. However, it did not work as expected, and no devices were detected, even though the same switches are detected by other monitoring systems, and the tool was able to generate an accurate report of all the switch details.

Error :

========== EEMI Code: CGEN1009 ==========
Message: Unable to perform the requested action because the device management endpoint authentication over SNMP failed.
Recommended actions: Make sure the credentials associated with the device management endpoint are valid and retry the operation.

And below is what we used for the discovery

Any recommandations on how this issue could be fixed, please?

Thanks

Jack168,

The issue you are seeing is likely due to OpenManage Enterprise not supporting most of the N series switches, as seen here. Now that isn't saying they definitely won't connect, just that they aren't supported by OpenManage.

Let me know if this helps.

I’m facing a similar issue with my Dell EMC S4128F-ON switches using SNMP. However, according to the OpenManage Enterprise Support Matrix, this model is listed as supported.

My Switch version is:
