Not able to update OME from version 3.5
Hi, tried to update OME several times with download from dell.com.
I am able to download the File.
1 Update(s) Available
Version: 3.7.0.82
First tiime i tried to install the appliance boot up correctly. But i got message, anything failed restored to privious version.
So i restored to a snapshot before and tried once more. OME stopped booting by destroying_plymouth boot screen.
Tried one more. Same message as first time.
Also tried to install 3.8. directly from offline source. Not able to find any update. I copied the whole folder structure to a local http server. Whatelse can i do?

Hello itwtz,
Version 3.5 needs to be upgraded to 3.6 before updating to 3.8.x
Page 177 Upgrade Recommendations and Prerequisites
OpenManage Enterprise versions earlier than versions 3.6, for example, version 3.5 and version 3.4, must first be updated to version 3.6 before considering an upgrade to 3.8.
https://dell.to/33N6Y6u
Check the offline method and folder structure is correct as explained in the video
OpenManage Enterprise Offline Console Updates
https://dell.to/3Iy4hEt
/openmanage_enterprise/LexingtonUpdates.xml
/openmanage_enterprise/LexingtonUpdates.xml.asc
/openmanage_enterprise/3.6.0/LexingtonUpdates.xml
/openmanage_enterprise/3.6.0/LexingtonUpdates.xml.asc
/openmanage_enterprise/3.6.0/full/omenterprise_3.6.0.tar.gz
Retry update with 3.6 or you may consider a fresh install version 3.8.2

Allready saw this video and spent 2 hours by moving files and folder names. Never seen such a stupid way to upload files. Why no implementing an upload button????
Attached you can find my folder structure.
Cannot reinstall, because within the next two month i will replace my virtualication env from cisco to vm. So i have to reinstall it twice. The only thing, why i want to update in my old env is because of log4j.
is there another way to implement the log4j fix?
Or where is my mistake on creating an webshare?!
Is there a way to connect through ssh for troubleshooting or read logfiles?

Hi,
sorry, but I misunderstood your screenshot.
Did you try a fresh reinstall?

No. There will be a complete Hardware Replacement within the next weeks. From Xen to Vmware. So i have to reinstall in a view weeks once more. So i wouldnt do this twice.
The only reason for updating for this short while until my hardware is arrived, is log4j. Is there a way to implement the fix otherwise?
