Tower Plus EBT2250, use retail Crucial DDR5 5600MT/s ram?

Can I use Crucial RAM 64GB Kit (2x32GB) DDR5 5600MT/s with the New Dell Tower Plus EBT2250 that have Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor (24-Core, 76MB Total Cache, 3.7GHz to 5.7GHz)?

Unknown if any retail memory will work. Dell only tested/validated our shipping OEM memory.

The Dell Tower Plus EBT2250 sales site only shows 5200 MT/s.

The Dell Tower Plus EBT2250 Owner's Manual only shows 5200 MT/s.

* Our OEM 5600MHz ram will downclock to 5200MHz as per the sales site Tech Specs and the Owner's Manual page 18. Since retail ram is not tested/validated, Dell cannot know if any of it will work.

@Wesmosis finally got it resolved. Although pretty much every computer in the world is capable of using faster RAM than specs call for and simply drop back to the required speed, this Dell is not. The RAM needs to be EXACTLY 5200 MHz.

@DELL-Chris M

Thank you Chris! Do you think If I use if will just clock down to 5200 MHz as it's the max the board can run at?

@Wesmosis

That is how other Dell Desktops sometimes worked with non-OEM ram. But until a user buys the crucial and test, we cannot know for sure.

@DELL-Chris M

Makes sense, thanks!

I bought the Crucial DDR5 5600MT/s ram, 2 sticks of 32GB. It does not work, although Crucial said it would.

Then I bought Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5600MT/s, 2 sticks of 32 GB, which Micro Center said would work. It does not.

What EXACTLY do I need to purchase for RAM? This is very frustrating.

@MNJohn Did you reinstall our OEM 5200 MHz memory or did you remove it and install retail 5200 MHz memory?

@DELL-Chris M I removed the 16GB strip that came with the computer and replaced them with 2 32GB strips of Corsair Vengeance 5200. These work. 5600 does not work.

You may want to make an edit to your specs to clarify this. Every other computer that uses DDR5 allows you to use faster RAM, ie 5600 Mhz, and the computer will simply run the 5600 RAM at 5200. This Dell is different, for some reason.

@MNJohn For other users, can you provide a link to those retail 32GB memory sticks?

@MNJohn Thanks for posting this. How is your Dell Tower Plus running with the 64 GB RAM? In my case, I'm concerned about the 460W power supply that my package will be shipped with. Do those RAM cards take up any significant power?

@MNJohn I bought those exact same Corsair Vengeance RAM cards that you posted. Even though the specs say they are 5200 MHz, when I checked in my BIOS settings it says that the memory speed is 4800 MHz. Are you getting the same reading in your BIOS for memory speed?

@DELL-Chris M Earlier in this thread you posted certain RAM cards that have been tested by Dell. Specifically for the 32 GB card you posted:

8D9M0 32GB DDR5, 5600MHz, 2R, Unbuffered, 288 pin, Dual Rank, Non-ECC, Non-Encrypted
Hynix HMCG88AGBUA
Micron MTC16C2085S1UC56BD1
Samsung M323R4GA3DB0-CWM/M323R4GA3EB0-CWM/M323R4GA3PB0-CWM

Are those the models that have been tested by Dell? If I were to buy one of those, it would work in the Dell EBT2250?

@Outlier Those show up as vendor and vendor part number when I look up part 8D9M0. In theory, if you found that exact vendor part number, it should work.
