Corrupted CAB files

I downloaded the CAB files for the models we use and when I try to extract them they all say they are corrupted. Is anyone else having this issue? I have tried Winzip, 7zip, and Extract. I have tried to re-download the CAB files and I still get the same error.

I'm facing the same problem. Tried WinRAR, WinZIP, Windows integrated tools, 7Zip, UltimateZip, and so on - no success. Seems as if noone uses these files - feedback would be much worse otherwise....

Which tool are you using to unzip the cab files? Winzip and winrar does work. Is this as issue with a specific cab? Can you let us know which cab is resulting in this issue.

I'm having the same issue.

R294986

Trying to extract the files out of the data1.cab and data2.cab from the driver files.

Knowing they are InstallShield cabinet files, I tried using "Universal Extractor v1.6", i5comp & i6comp and ZipScan v2.21. They all claim are not valid InstallShield cabinet files, neither version 3, 4, 5, or 6.

Looking at the header of the two cabinet files in question, it appears to start with an InstallShield header, but beyond that, I'm not knowledgeable enough

Same here, corrupt cabinets ; uncompressed with 7-zip (windows integrated tool the same result). The file concerned in my case is
E4310-win7-A01-R278010.CAB

Is it my download ?

It looks like it's your download. I just downloaded and extracted R278010 with Winzip and it's fine.

I'm also having issues with the E5420-win7-A00-R295767. When deployinging i noticed 'pci simple communications controller' didnt install. I have manually tried to unpack this using '7zip' and at 88% it locks ups with the error 'file is broken'

If I understand your post, you can download the E5420 cab, extract it and deploy with it, but a device isn't being installed. Then you are trying to unpack what file?

I've heard of a few people having issues opening the CABs with 7zip. I've used WinZip successfully, you might want to try that. Also, the ding you are seeing in Device Manager is probably from the HECI.inf driver for Intel AMT/Vpro. Several people have reported that this device will sometimes not install and is identified as a "PCI simple communcations controller".

If you aren't seeing an "Intel AMT...device" in the System devices section, then your are seeing this issue and the cab file is OK.

Thanks for the reply Warren, MDT2010 unpacks the cab file without an issue and allows me to deploy the drivers but the ''pci simple communications controller' is missing from device manager. When i tried to manually unpack the cab file using '7zip' that is where i see the 'file is broken' error

Not seeing anything related to Intel AMT missing. i have used 'driver magician' to export all drivers from a working e5420, imported them into teh out of box drivers\win7x86\latitude e5420 and had the same issue with the missing'pci simple communications controller' its not causing us any issues so i wont worry about it.

Appreciate the once again quick response Warren
