Bluetooth keyboard and mouse

The most common PIN is four zeroes in a row, 0000. Two others are 1111 and 1234. Try entering those when you're prompted for a PIN, starting with 0000, and most of the time, the pairing finishes successfully.

if no joy there's a chance the PIN is imprinted on the device somewhere, perhaps on a decal on the underside or in the battery compartment.

If you are working under Windows 10, 1) press the pairing button on the wireless keyboard until the blue light on the keyboard begins blinking, 2) in Settings, click on Bluetooth and wait for the keyboard to show up in the Manage Bluetooth devices list, and 3) click on the keyboard listing and, instead of entering a pairing code into the empty field, click on "or enter a paring code from the keyboard."  This will generate a pairing code to enter into the wireless keyboard.  After entering the pairing code, press "enter" on the wireless keyboard.  That should do the trick.

I have to fess up to doing something stupid, and now can't seem to correct it. I too have a relatively old but never used Dell BT bluetooth keyboard, and I'm now using Windows 10. On my first attempt to pair, a keyboard generated code was displayed, and I was asked to enter it. Stupid me, I tried to use the bluetooth keyboard to enter it, and of course nothing happened. So I closed the window, and tried again. I was again presented with a keyboard generated code, and again I tried to enter it with the bluetooth keyboard, and nothing happened again. So I closed the window, and tried again. This time no keyboard generated code was displayed. Just the box to enter the code. Since I didn't know any code (I hadn't written them down), and after carefully inspecting the keyboard labels and not finding any codes, I searched for the answer and came across this thread. So I tried entering 0000. That didn't work. I entered 1111. I entered 1234. No joy. Then I read your post, which I hoped would solve the issue. But... I'm not offered the option of clicking on "or enter a paring code from the keyboard". It is not on the screen anywhere. My only option now, is to enter the pin (I now know the correct keyboard to use), and since I can't generate a keyboard code, I'm stuck. I even removed the batteries from the bluetooth keyboard, and rebooted the computer, hoping to "reset" everything and get that window again with the keyboard generated code. But no luck. I'm still only getting a window asking for the code. How can I get the keyboard to generate another code, the way it did twice before?

I just had the same issue, nothing would work then I went back to entering 0000 on my laptop then typed the same 0000 on my keyboard and they synced. Wished I would have thought of that hours ago before google searching. Good Luck!

Thanks for help! That trick worked for me in Windows10: 
1. Make DELL BT discoverable by pressing the button, the blue LED should be flashing. 

2. In Windows Bluetooth settings go to Add a Device and wait for the keyboard to show up on list

3. Select/click the DELL BT keyboard listing, and then an empty input field for PIN is displayed as Windows dialog.

4. put the cursor into the input field for the PIN and enter a PIN (I used 0000) using the laptop's keyboard 
5. type the same PIN (0000) on the DELL BT keyboard and press ENTER on the DELL BT keyboard

6. Windows dialog will show that the DELL BT keyboard is connected.

@PBA01​ ttthis just worked for me. i typd the 0000 on my laptop and clicked connect, then i typed 0000 onmy bt keybaord and pressed enter on my bt keyboard
