On the Inspiron One 2020 (2012 AIO), there often isn’t a visible “AHCI” option in the BIOS – many units ship with SATA locked to ATA/IDE and Dell never exposed an AHCI toggle in that model’s firmware.dell
On the Dell Inspiron One 2020, the BIOS may only show ATA and not provide an AHCI option. If AHCI is not listed under SATA Operation, it generally cannot be enabled through the normal BIOS settings. If you’re trying to install Windows or use an SSD, tell me what you’re trying to achieve and I can suggest the safest workaround.
@sarahlauren0471 yes i installed an ssd an upgraded the ram but ssd caps at 200mb is there a way to extract the bios and modify it
It's very old. I'm assuming SATA only. If CPU limited with an i3 or i5, even SATA-2/300 can only do about 200-250 mbs anyway. However, the increased IOPS over a HDD should still help it to feel snappy.
