Inspiron 3030, no connection to P2725HE

Inspiron 3030 Desktop

Inspiron 3030 Desktop

I have bout both a new Inspiron 3030 tower PC and a new  Dell 27 USB-C Hub Monitor - P2725HE. I have put in the power cord, the DP to DP cable that came with it and all the HDMI cables I that have and I know I have put the cords in properly and firmly but the screen will just say no HDMI and no DP connection to my device. I found this strange because I can use my new monitor with my old PC with all the HDMI cables. Can anyone help me please?

Inspiron 3030 Desktop or Inspiron 3030 Small Desktop?

Do you have an add-in video card, or only onboard Intel Graphics? if you have an add-in video card, the monitor has to be connected to the card, not to either the onboard HDMI or DP port.

Onboard video ports are marked "2" and "3" in this pic of 3030 Desktop back. An add-in video card will be in the area marked "6" in this pic of 3030 Desktop, or in similar area of back of Small Desktop.

BTW: Once you get monitor working with the new Inspiron, be sure you have the latest BIOS v1.9.0 for Inspiron 3030 Desktop and Small Desktop to fix Intel's issues with their 13th and 14th Gen CPUs.

If you don't have this version yet, carefully follow the Installation Instructions at that link for Updating the BIOS from BIOS Boot Menu (independent of operating system), which is always the safest way to install BIOS updates...

@RoHe I should have a Nvidia RTX4060 115W TGP 8GB GDDR6 if that means anything.  I don't have a small desktop but the pic you have attach definately look like the back of my new one.

@RoHe You know what I didn't realise that the back was similar but different to the back.  As soon as I plugged the DP cable in, then I can see now (strange that I am legally blind).  Next time I buy a new desktop tower PC, I will check the back a bit more thoroughly before panicking.

Thank you.

Sounds like  plugging the monitor into the RTX4060 DP port solved the problem.

Now please make sure you have BIOS 1.9.0 installed so you won't have problems with the Intel CPU chip...
