Yes it can save data prior reinstalling OS
You will need an external drive or Large enough drive for that. You can have detailed video here.

This was the error code before i changed the battery
I do have data i don't want to lose, so if i backup.. Will it save all the data on my laptop?
Okay just download an updated BIOS onto a usb and installing that now, let's see if that solves it.
Did you try to click on Start Repair : ??
Reboot to BIOS (F2) > RESET to default
If you don't have data on the machine and willing to go for a full wipe >>
Reboot to F12 > SupportAssist OS Recovery > RESET > RESET and update
If you have important data on the machine which you wanna save, you will need an external Drive
Reboot to F12 > SupportAssist OS Recovery > RESET > Backup
