Can't find any drivers for Inspiron M5110

Hello. I have a pretty old Dell Inspiron m5150. It was released around 2013. I can't find the drivers in any way. The site simply does not recognize my service tag, and the support utility is not supported on win 7. I found a pretty simillar M511R model, but I'm not sure if its drivers are compatible. So can someone please help me find those drivers?

A Dell employee wrote to me: "The Inspiron M5110 has been pulled from the Drivers & Downloads page because it is 13 years old." Guess this ends the discussion. Thank you very much everyone for your help

Re-check the model number -- there's an Inspiron N5110 from about that time period, but no M5110.

The Inspiron 5150 (no M) is a 2003 model.

The M511R was an AMD based system released contemporaneously with the N5110, which is Intel-based.

@ejn63 there IS a m5110 model and looks like it was exclusive to Russia.

If so, and it was indeed unique to Russia, that would explain the absence of driver/info/support -- Dell being a U.S. company is barred from providing service or support for hardware sold in that country.

It appears to be the AMD version of the Inspiron N5110.

There are some hardware details in the EBay listing for the system -- AMD may have drivers for their APU.

@ejn63 this is very helpful, thanks. Also after updating the system wireless started working.

All that remains is to find a new bios version, since I want to upgrade the CPU. I think the version from M5111R might work, but the risk is too high. Anyway, thanks for the help.

Hi

The Dell Inspiron 5110 (also known as Inspiron 15R N5110) drivers for the Russian market can be found on Dell's official Russian support site.   EXCEPT there is no site to be found.

Hello again. I found this information under the battery. Did I understand correctly that the M5110 is a submodel of the M511R? If so, is the bios M511R suitable for M5110?

@Vanderit

Regarding the A05 BIOS for M511R the name of the BIOS is 5110A05.(exe). Dell uses the same terminology; it would lead one to believe they are identical and thus should flash properly.

If you attempt, follow all the rules related to BIOS upgrading. Definitely use the DOS mode (not in Windows).

A smart Dell user, DD, user once posted:

"The standard advice regarding BIOS upgrades is to perform one only if the new BIOS solves a specific problem which the user is currently having with the present BIOS."

It is possible to re-flash a corrupted BIOS (normally by a professional) but my suggestion is, if anything, to put a new cmos battery into your system (if required) and leave the BIOS alone.
