DELL Inspiron 13 5310 Black Screen

Laptop has had heavy use by highschool student. Battery went flat in class.

After charging, laptop had black screen with the caps lock on?

plugged into a set of external DELL monitors and computer works perfectly on those monitors, nothing on laptop screen.

updated drivers and tried updating windows, a few reset options but screen is still blank.

question - is it worth fixing the screen or should I buy a new laptop given it's a 2021 model?
