Dell Inspiron 15 3501 charging port

Hello, I've had you device 4 years ago (around 2021). Today whenever I charge the device it needs a certain angle to be charged. I've changed chargers (same watts as the old charge [65w]) since I though that was the problem at first, but now I think the port is the problem. I've been scouting solutions here but none of the problems here have the same as mine.

Do I need to change the charging port?

Please help since I use my device for work

From what you are describing it sound as though the port is defective and needs replaced.

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

Most likely yes, the DC jack needs to be replaced.  Try parts-people.com for the part.

@DELL-Jesse L Oh wow, thank you for the help. I'm quite curious how is this defect possible since I don't bring my laptop elsewhere nor more to from different places. Is this a wear and tear thing?

I have the same problem and thought it was the power source. I ordered a new one from DELL and still have the same problem. I think it is a bad part from the beginning. Sometimes, i cannot angle the charger so that it charges at all. I have to keep it plugged. What good is having a laptop? Why is it not a magnet?
