Dell inspiron 15 3530 type-c charging issue

Question

I have an inspiron 15 3530. I tried using my power bank to charge it via type c port and it was charging slowly and notified that the input power needs to be increased. This confirmed that the laptop is able to charge via type c.

Now, I just wanted to ask how much maximum wattage input it supports using type c port. I want to move away from the brick adapter that came with the laptop and move to type c charging. I tried my friend’s macbook charger with 67W output and it still said that the power input is low, why did this happen? I want to buy a ugreen 65w charger, will that work with this laptop? Or any good charger recommendations to achieve this? I just want to move away from this brick charger.

This model isn't designed to be charged over USB-C -- it is designed to charge using the OEM adapter with the 4.5 mm barrel connector. It may take power over USB-C but from what you've described, not sufficient to power the system or charge at full speed.

The system needs 65W -- which apparently the USB-C port can't sustain.

There are also two distinct systems with the same model number -- on with a plastic chassis and one aluminum. The aluminum chassis model has USB-C that can take power. The plastic chassis model cannot.

@ejn63​ I have the aluminium one i think. As i said it can draw power from my power bank and charges slowly so it means it can charge via type-c. But the only issue is that i don’t know whether it can take higher wattage like 65w through type-c.

The definitive test would be an OEM Dell USB-C adapter -- if you don't have one, chances are a local computer repair shop will that you might try.
