How to install BIOS without battery.
Today I was wandering around my Dell Inspiron 5420's Drivers and Downloads page. Saw a BIOS update. Downloaded and installed it. After the files extracted, I was given an error which said ERROR: The battery must be charged above 10%. Please help me.

I would never try to install the BIOS update if your battery needs to be replaced. There is no way to bypass the battery requirement and with a low battery should you lose power during the process the MB would be bricked. As for installing the update for the sake of an update, unless you have a problem that the update specifically addresses then there is no need for an update. The forum is full of posts from users that have had something go wrong during the update rendering their systems unusable.

The reason I want to update the BIOS without battery is because the battery in my Dell Inspiron 5420 has spoiled. After replacing the battery, the battery status is still 255% charging. See my other forum post.
