Hi
The most likely cause is that Sticky Keys/Filter Keys sound feedback got turned on, or the Windows touch-keyboard click sound is enabled. On a Dell Inspiron 15 3501, the quickest fix is to turn off those accessibility sounds in Windows and, if needed, disable the keyboard event sound in the classic Sound control panel.learn.microsoft+1
Try this first
Press Right Shift for about 8 seconds. On many Dell/Windows systems, that toggles Sticky Keys-related behavior and can stop the beeps/clicks immediately.dell+1
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard.
Turn off:
Sticky Keys
Filter Keys
Toggle Keys
In the same area, turn off any option that says play a sound when those features are enabled or changed. youtubelearn.microsoft
If the sound is from typing
If it’s the on-screen keyboard or touch keyboard click sound, open the keyboard’s Options and uncheck Use click sound. If you’re using the physical laptop keyboard and still hearing a tick/click, Windows may be playing a system sound for key events, which can be disabled in the classic Sound settings.dell+2 youtube
Disable the system sound
Open Control Panel.
Go to Sound.
Open the Sounds tab.
In Program Events, find the keyboard-related event.
Set its sound to None and click Apply.learn.microsoft+1
Dell-specific check
The Inspiron 15 3501 manual confirms Dell uses function-key shortcuts for things like audio mute, so if the sound changed after a key combo, check whether an Fn shortcut was pressed accidentally. If the beep is only happening with Caps Lock, Num Lock, or Scroll Lock, that’s almost always Toggle Keys rather than a hardware issue.dell+1 youtube
