Inspiron 15 3511, Crucial ram?

Hi

I'm hoping to upgrade the RAM on my laptop and the brand (Crucial) I wish to purchase from are listing my laptop as a Intel Core i7-1165G7 with their scanner.

My model is a Intel Core i5-1035G1 - 8gb Ram - 256 GB NVMe SSD -

They inform that my device can be upgraded to a max capacity 64gb (2x32gb).

I was hoping if anyone in the community can advise if that claim is legit.

Thanks In advance.

If you purchase directly from Crucial, you risk nothing as they guarantee compatibility when you use their memory configurator.

Notes;

16GB is the maximum Dell tested/validated.
2x8GB
1x16GB

Intel specifications may not apply to Dell OEM CPU restrictions.

Read through the Crucial returns policy if their memory does not work.

So according to intel:

Processor Number i5-1035G1

Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) 64 GB
Memory Types DDR4-3200, LPDDR4-3733
Max # of Memory Channels 2
Max Memory Bandwidth 58.3 GB/s
ECC Memory SupportedNo
Windows 11 Home apparently supports 128gb
Anyone more knowledgeable know if the system will actually recognize 64gb as I'm unsure of all the dynamics.
I was under the impression 16gb was the max.
Thanks In Advance.

Thanks for the replies.

I will contact Crucial before I commit.

It's not just "contacting" them -- you need to purchase directly from them, unless you find another supplier that will guarantee compatibility (most won't -- the most means most of the drop-shippers (Amazon, Newegg, Microcenter, etc.).

Just to update, the Crucial RAM is accepted on my laptop.

The bios recognizes it and so does windows.

Crucial explained it was the motherboard chipset on the 3511 that was the more vital component rather than my processor model.

32gb in each slot, 64gb total.
