Power limit throttling ( no thermal throttling) on 7567
the problem seems not happen when i stress test just the cpu alone, it works fine. But when i stress BOTH gpu and cpu or playing games, cpu throttles down to 2.2GHz and cause terrible fps ! XTU said it was power limit throtting. After updating win10 ver 1803, the cpu performs better but after 5-10mins in game it drops down to 2.7ghz. Well 2.7 is fine, the fps is kinda ok to me, but is there anyway to fix this problems and let cpu runs 100% power without throttling it self? btw the heat may not be the problem when cpu is always <72C when full load and gpu <65

Hi,i have the same problem with my inspiron 7567 i have gtx 1050ti 65C and i7-7700hq 70C after undervolting -110mV and after 5min of gaming frequency drops to 2.0Ghz-1.8Ghz and CPU TDP is 15W.Please help
I found a solution you need to install win10 version 1607 in my case is working fine now frequency is 3.4Ghz when gaming and temperatures are GPU 75C and CPU 80C and CPU TDP is 25W!!!

Thanks for the advice, I've repasting the device then I've found out that the problems is the overheating in the VRMs and MOSFET, i used some thermal pad and it works perfectly now!!

I found another solution ! Just uninstall intel dynamic platform and thermal framework drivers and for me it s working fine too

Could you say the tickness of the thermal pad you used? (0.5mm, 5 mm...)

After turning on the laptop go in device Manager and uninstall Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Processor Participant and select to delete the driver software for this device. You have to do it every time you restart the laptop(it takes 15s)And temperatures will be high(after undervloting -125mV, 80-90C)) but it will not power limit throttling! It is solution if you do not repast your laptop.

Turning off the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Processor Participant did not work for me. What did work for me was:
- Restart the notebook, enter the Bios (press F10 or F12), go to the Bios Configuration -> Performance, and disable the Intel SpeedStep option.
Remember that doing this will keep your processor (and all the voltage management related) at its top performance, what may overheat your system, reducing your equipment lifetime.

So by doing that you aren't experiencing any PLT? What are your temps while playing high end games?

Hi, can you please say the thickness of the thermal pad you used? ( 0.5mm, 5 mm...) and where in motherboard is VRMs and MOSFET, if possible post pic or google the image of the motherboard and say where to put it. Thanks :)
By the way what game did you play? I am playing PUBG and it always occur and i go down as 800Mhz :(

Hello,
Power Limit throttling won't be solved by repasting your chip. I would suggest that you install Intel XTU and use it to undervolt your Processor. Do this with your own risk, but I think it is much safer than repasting your chip. Undervolting will also improve your thermals. I'm currently running stress test with -0,150V undervolt with my G5 and processor is performing better and cooler.
Please check out this video to get general idea of the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Pc2NksX94E
