Upgraded BIOS with AC unplugged - help

I got in a hurry when updating the BIOS on my Insprion 7500 and did not have the AC adapter attached while doing so. Now the laptop does not support the 8MB video card, luckily a 4 MB video card works. How can I rememdy. When I try to reflash the BIOS, the system stops with a message that the new BIOS is just like the old BIOS and it stops. I've looked for other versions of BIOS on Dell's website, but can only find the A14 BIOS. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance, Joe

Did you change video display to LCD in the Bios.

You can enter bios by clicking F2 at boot.

Hi Guys,
Sorry to take so long to get back to you, but I sure appreciate the suggestions. Yes, I updated the BIOS in a true DOS environment. I did not specify LCD in the BIOS initially (It was set to simultaneous) but have gone back in using F2 and set video to LCD and disabled TV, saved the changes and powered down. Re-installed 8MB card and powered up, still no video on LCD (did not try external monitor...which just occurred to me). I have several of these Inspiron 7500, so I tried another 8MB card which I knew was working, still no video on LCD.

Again referring to the fact that I have several of this model. Some have different versions of the BIOS. Is there a way to copy the BIOS from another machine onto a floppy since I can't find an older BIOS to download onto a floppy? I feel that if I could downdate (is that the term) the BIOS and then update it again...this time with the AC plugged in, that this machine would behave again.

Any further suggestions? Thanks, Joe
