Dell 5290 Tablet no Bluetooth Intel 8265
Hi there,
I have recently purchased a 5290 2-1 tablet and I cannot get Bluetooth to work. Bluetooth is greyed out in the Bios and does not appear in device manager. I opened the tablet and the antenna wires are connected securely, Wifi works well. The tablet is using an intel 8265 card.
The tablet is out of warranty and I do not know if Bluetooth worked prior to my having acquired it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling various drivers and I've had no luck.
Does anyone have any advice on what else to try? Would I be best trying to replace the networking card?

I have the same issue. They say, that some company has policy that don't allow bluetooth, and if someone orders it WITHOUT bluetooth, then it will be disabled at a firmware level, and nothing can unlcok it. I have tried to replace the wifi card, i have tried bios upgrade / downgrade, and nothing.
I'm sorry for that, I use USB dongle for bluetooth, and it is frustrating with only 1 usb port.

I've got exactly the same problem.
Bluetooth is greyed out in BIOS. I tried the following steps:
1. Upgrade System BIOS to the latest
2. Upgrade Bluetooth drivers from Intel to the latest
No luck. Bluetooth remains disabled.

I own a Dell Latitude 5290 2-in-1, and I've been struggling with an issue where the Bluetooth is disabled in the BIOS and is greyed out, preventing me from enabling it. I've tried updating the BIOS to the latest version and updating the drivers, but the Bluetooth remains blocked. From what I've gathered, this may be due to a firmware-level restriction, possibly because the device was originally ordered without Bluetooth.
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
Unfortunately, nothing has worked so far. I’ve read in some forums that this could be a firmware-level block that’s not easily bypassed, but I was wondering if anyone here has found a workaround or a way to unlock Bluetooth in such cases? I’d like to avoid using a USB Bluetooth dongle due to the limited number of USB ports on the device.
