Dell Charger Warrany

I was just wondering how you warranty a Dell charger that was bought separately from a laptop. There isn't any way to register it or see if it is still under it's own warranty.

Hello verniekthompson,

You should have an order number for the adapter. It is usually for 1 year warranty. You can click here to check.

This adapter was bought third party off of eBay through an individual so I don't think the order number would do any good. Is there a way to register the device or lookup the warranty information for the USB-C Charger using the numbers on the charger itself? I looked at the ownership change form but I can see no way to accomplish this for a charger.

None of these relate in any way to the question that was asked.

Only computers get registered. Parts bought from private sellers (not Dell) are not warrantied.

So there isn't any way to register the charger with Dell? If I contact Dell support, they won't be able to look up using the numbers on the charger and tell me if it is under the 1 year warranty?

It is only warrantied for one year to the first owner.

Chargers rarely fail. It's the battery or computer that usually fails.
