Dell latitude e6420 no boot
Hi there i have a dell latitude e6420 that was working perfectly untill last night when it decided not turn on any more. Tried the diagnostic boot with fn doesn't work. Only display works when holding down d. The wireless light is the only one on. Any advice

Unplug the system and remove the battery.
Hold the power button for 30 sec.
Remove and reinstall the memory module(s) and hard drive.
Leave the battery out. Is the AC adapter LED on? If not, it's faulty - replace it.
If it is on, plug in the system (no battery). Does the LED stay on?
Yes: try powering up.
No: If the LED goes out on connecting the system, there's a short in the system. Try replacing the DC power jack (inside the system).
If the powerup fails - or replacing the DC jack doesn't do anything, the mainboard is bad.

Hello guys ...this is the solution.
1.Start your computer.
2.Before booting....hit F12 to enter boot menu.
3.Go to BIOS setup and hit enter.
4.Go to system configuration and hit enter.
5.A screen like the below will appear.
_Intergrated NIC
_Parallel port
_Serial port
_SATA operation
_Drives
And morer...
6.Select SATA operation and enter .
7.A screen will appear:
SATA OPERATION.
_Disabled
_ATA
_AHCI
_RAID ON
✔Select AHCI and click apply.
(YOU WILL HAVE TO DO THIS EVERYTIME YOU BOOT YOUR PC OR ELSE YOUR BOOT WILL FAIL!).
✔EXIT AND DONT UNPLUG YOUR PC FROM POWER OR ELSE IT WILL REVERT BACK TO (RAID ON).
CLICK EXIT AND LET ME KNOW IF THIS WORKS .

This solves my problem. Thank you. Ive been trying for months. But why isn't the BIOS retaining this? Possibly CMOS battery needs replacing?
