Dell latitude e7470 4G Mobile network module

Question

Hi there,

I have dell latitude e7470 with sim card tray.

I want to use 4g mobile broadband.

What solution do we have for this?

What kind of modules should i buy and install?

p.s if this kind of modules exist, which bands they do support?

WWAN cards do exist for this system, but unless the system was factory configured with one, the antenna needed won't be present in the system. Depending on the type of screen, you will need to replace at least the back cover assembly (non-touch) with one having the antenna wiring, or if it's a touch screen, you'll need to replace the entire display assembly to install an antenna.

The two cards Dell lists are the DW5811e and DW5816e -- you can check for compatibility with your service provider. Depending on how much you're willing to spend to replace the display in order to install the card, you may find it simpler to just get a USB WWAN adapter from your service provider.

So I just purchased a refurbished off-lease E7470 with a touch screen. The WWAN card is missing, but the antenna wiring is present. Would this indicate the WWAN antenna is also present?

The WWAN antenna cables should be the Black/Gray and the White/Gray.

Is there a black holder with extra antenna cables next to the WWAN slot???

EDIT:

If the antenna cables are there then that would indicate that the antennas are installed inside the LCD bezel.

If your Latitude e7470 has the two WWAN antenna wires, then the only question is which one of the two cards available are for your laptop? That depends on what country the laptop was manufactured for use in: the DW5811e is designated the Americas and EMEA while the DW5816e is designated for APAC. In the US you used to be able to buy the DW5821e under several Dell part numbers such as 3P10Y, for less than $30 from Walmart. Other than Aliexpress.com, I have no idea where the DW5816e can be purchased.
