> hard drive5=sn:xxxxx, incorrect status=2 criticalwarn tempexceeded.

tempexceeded suggests that the disk exceeds a temperature threshold. Does it happen on a cold boot or after some time powered on? In the first case, this is a firmware problem either on NVMe or the laptop. In case of the latter, the disk gets really hot and requires some cooling. Unfortunately Dell have not designed a cooling system for m.2 slots on those models.

- try with another NVMe disk to check if you get the same error

- upgrade laptop's BIOS to the latest in case wasn't done

- verify that NVMe disk is firmly connected in the slot and there are no pins damaged

Did you ever get a result with this? I'm getting exactly the same with an Inspiron 3671 and new m2 SSD.

Is this issue resolved? I recently bought Inspiron 5505 laptop and tried to install Crucial 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD. I'm getting the same error while booting.

BIOS is updated and the SSD connection is secured. Tried with 2 SSD but same response.

Let me know if you were able to resolve this.

I have the same warning when I fitted a Crucial 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD to my G15 5515.

Anyone get a solution?
