Latitude 7400, AE515M Soundbar beeps
Hello all!
First post here.
I just recently got a new (to me) AE515M sound bar. I set it up on my monitor stand and plugged the USB cable into a WD19TB dock, which is connected to a Latitude 7400.
The sound bar works but it does something strange after a few minutes. Anytime sound is played, it's preceded by two beeps. The beeps are from the sound bar and not from the laptop. For example, if I use the Windows 11 audio slider to test the sound, the beep will sound followed by the Windows sound.
This happens with media players too, but once the double beep plays, audio is fine. It appears that the sound bar uses beeps when the volume setting goes to zero (single beep) or to 100 (double beep).
I saw a similar post on another forum that suggested turning off power saving for the USB ports. I did that, but there's no change.
I also tried connecting the sound bar directly to my laptop but the double beep still persists.
I don't the sound bar is defective and I don't know of any other configurations I can try. I don't want to use the AUX cable but I suppose I could try that next.
Thoughts?

I recall a similar post on this forum, and i think it turned out to be a software issue.
The USB cable must be plugged into a PC for the AUX port to work.

I'm not sure if this is the solution...
So the AE515 soundbar has two built-in beeps: a single beep when the volume is set to 0 and a double-beep when the volume is set to max. I found that if I set the Windows volume at anything other than 100%, the double-beep isn't triggered.
I haven't tried the AUX jack on the soundbar yet; I'm looking for a cable long enough to reach from my laptop.

I get the double beep when I increase the vol to 100%.
When I decrease to 0%, I get a kind of static noise, like its trying to make a sound, but output is disabled already!

Actually I can make it make 1 or 2 beeps when I adjust it to 0%. It's hit and miss though. I have to really try!
If I leave it on 100%, and then play a windows test sound, I have no issues.
Usually 30% is adequate
