I would like to verify whether this behavior is expected.

System:
- Dell Latitude 7430
- Intel Core i7-1255U
- BIOS 1.41.0
- Dell Power Manager 3.18
- Original Dell 65W AC adapter
- Battery health: Excellent

Usage:
The laptop is used as a desktop replacement and remains connected to AC about 90–95% of the time.

Battery configuration:
Custom charging
- Start charging: 50%
- Stop charging: 80%

Behavior:

After discharging below 50%, the battery charges correctly to exactly 80% and charging stops.

However, while the AC adapter remains connected all the time, the battery percentage gradually increases over several days:

80%
81%
82%
83%
84%
85%
86%
87%
88%

The increase occurs without disconnecting the AC adapter.

Additional observations:
- BIOS always shows Custom (50% / 80%).
- Dell Power Manager also shows Custom correctly.
- Battery health is Excellent.
- The white charging LED occasionally flashes for 1–2 seconds during operation.
- During weekends (almost no usage), the battery percentage is much more stable than during working days.

My questions:

1. Is it normal for Custom mode to exceed the configured 80% limit by up to 88%?
2. Does the Embedded Controller intentionally perform periodic top-off charging in Custom mode?
3. Is there an acceptable tolerance for the configured stop charging threshold?
4. Is this expected behavior on Latitude 7430 or should the battery remain close to 80%?

If anyone owns a Latitude 7430 (or another Latitude 74x0 model) and uses Custom charging (50% / 80%), could you please check whether your battery also gradually exceeds the configured stop threshold while remaining connected to AC? It would be very helpful to know whether this is normal behavior or specific to my system.
