Latitude D610
My old Latitude D610 boots OK with a 2GB chip in slot A, but when I add another 2GB chip in Slot B, it fails to boot. I'm running A06 BIOS. Everything I've read says that the Latitude D610 will run with 4GB RAM. What am I doing wrong?

If that 2G soDIMM works by itself in the first slot, the most likely answer is that the second memory slot is bad.

Uh, you mean the Pentium M D610? That CPU/Chipset (Intel 915GM) supports 2GB RAM maximum in 1GB x 2 stick config. Is it even showing 2GB RAM available with the one stick in? Even if it could do 2x2, old hardware was more particular about them being the same speed and DIMM configuration. I hope this is just a retro novelty and you're not intending to try to use Windows and a web browser. That CPU is too ancient to take advantage of even 2GB, more RAM wouldn't make it any more usable.
