Never run a lithium battery completely down.  Just charge and use normally.

With lithium-ion batteries, the best way to condition them (and what I do with my Latitude 7490) is to run the computer on battery alone until its down to about 15% (just before the computer "suggests" you plug in the adapter) and let it charge to full capacity.  Repeat this a couple of times and the battery should be "conditioned".

The forum does not let me use dirty words to comment the article above.

Draining before first charge is good for NiMH batteries, but not appropriate for modern Lithium-based batteries.

Anytime during their life cycle they must not stay drained. This will kill them very fast.

For some reason, your subcription notifications were turned off? We have turned them back on.
