Ubuntu UHD bugs on Precision 15 7510?
Hi,
I was configuring a Precision 7510 with UHD and Ubuntu but was told that Ubuntu doesn't support UHD on that model yet. Some search results show that there were two bugs for that combination (according to DELL-Jared D back in February) but I can't find any detailed explanation or update.
So what's the current situation? What kind of bugs are those? Would upgrading to latest Linux kernel and/or video driver fix them? I actually run Fedora/RHEL and have no problem upgrading kernel or driver myself. If not should I refrain from buying that configuration or shall I expect an official fix soon?
Thanks for your help!

That's great news, thanks Jared! Is the fix purely software or hardware? If it's pure software we are thinking of ordering now so we can get the machine asap.

What I'm seeing is that the OS bugs with the UHD panel on this system were just fixed a few weeks ago and should become available next month. Sorry for the wait.

Software fix. As you know this platform ships with our Ubuntu 14.04 factory image, so it's the only way to get 14.04 on this system. If you're fine with self-supporting (presumably with Ubuntu 16.04) then that's an option too.
