xps 13 de ship with ubuntu 14 date

I'm currently running the Ubuntu 14.04 beta on the dell xps 13 sputnik. It runs fine. Everything runs fine, and 14.04 is a significant improvement over 12.04. 

Just wait till they release the 14.04 and then upgrade your machine. :)

Thanks, yeah I was just curios as I dont currently own the xps 13de and just figured if Im going to purchase it I mine as well wait till it ships with the 14.04 already installed.

I really want to purchase the dell xps 13 developer edition http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=cax13u1570&model_id=xps-13-9333&c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04 ,but I am wondering, does it come with a backlit keyboard, can't seem to find anything about it anywhere, but I would assume that it does

I have an XPS 13 non-haswell, and it DOES have a backlit...so I guess the newer ones too...

14.04 will come pre-installed on the next rev of Sputnik but unfortunately I cant tell you when that will be (cant give out future launch dates)

Ok I understand your position Barton but did you spoke to your developer team to know the improvement on the profile tools and cloud launcher tools? Will it be ready for the next Sputnik revision?

when 14.04 will officially be released for sputnik, will it also be available for "older" systems as well? I just bought the latest XPS 13 Haswell with preinstalled Ubuntu. I have upgraded to 14.04 and everything is running fine exept for suspend to disk. And I suppose that running 14.04 is currently not supported by Dell...
