XPS 13 / Ubuntu / External webcam when lid closed
Greetings,
An odd issue I'm using an external webcam which is installed and works fine when the laptop lid is open, however when I close the lid I'm unable to get a picture.
I'm guessing what switches it off is part of the same system which turns off the built in webcam when the lid is closed, but I can't find a software or bios entry that allows the use of an external webcam with the lid closed.
Any ideas?
Running Ubuntu 16.04, Dell XPS 13 9350, Bios 1.7.0

After some fiddling, I _think_ I resolved it by switching my external monitor to *Primary* in Display settings.
Hope this helps someone with a similar issue.
