Alienware 17 R2 - Overheating CPU - 2 Weeks Old!
Purchased a brand new Alienware 17 R2 with the GTX 970m and was playing some games when I noticed it was getting a little hot, I didn't think much of it since it was a brand new machine. The next day I ran CUPID and 3DMARK FIRESTRIKE right into the test the CPU temps jumped up to 94 and into the red. Tried all the different bio updates with no luck, A01 seems to run the coolest at 90 under load. I'm very disappointed. GPU is staying under 70 so no problems there. I'm waiting on Dell now to see what can be done.

Looks like I wont be dealing with it. Got the word back from Dell and they are going to send a new 17 with a GTX 980M as a upgrade. I'm pretty happy and don't mind waiting a few weeks for the GTX 980M.
