Aurora booting into power saving mode
Hello and thank you in advance for any assistance.
I have a 3yo Alienware Aurora that is no longer booting.
I installed a new video card (NVidia 760) which was upgraded from a 500x. I've had issues since I installed the new card.
The PC will power up, then go into power safe mode. Sometimes it will just shut down and attempt to reboot. I'm assuming that's an overheat issue?
On power, I do see the Alienware logo. Then the machine either shuts down or goes into power safe mode.
Steps that I've taken:
- Unplug and replug everything into the motherboard.
- Reset video card. Also attempted to use the old video card.
- Check thermal temperature
- Unplug all USB devices
- Uncharge the system
I'm running Windows 7, not that I can get to Windows
It seems that my motherboard may be shot, but I thought I would ask for other opinions? *crosses fingers*

Hi kerrijean,
Try to run an ePSA diagnostic to check for hardware errors. This will help us identify what's causing the problem.
Let me know the results!
