Laptop to TV Setup?
Hello,
I have an Alienware 17 and I would like to play my steam games on my TV. Do I need some kind of special setup device or will the HDMI cable suffice? I would like both audio and visuals to be through the my TV, do I need a certain kind of input/output setup changed on the PC?

R1... or R2... maybe R3... or R4...
usually the HDMI Cable is all you need. turn on both, your Laptop and the TV. once you connected the TV to your Laptop, Windows should recognise the new Device. then press Start + P, pick the Monitor Setup you prefer. Single Monitor, Duplicate or Extended.
you might need to switch Audio Devices if it didn't happen automatically. click on the Speaker Icon in the Task Bar and choose your TV as Audio Device.
at this Point it should work. you might notice some Delay (Input Lag etc.). switch your TV into Gaming Mode and as Display Modechoose Standard (not Overscan or Full Screen).
that is what i can tell you based on the Information we have.
