X51 GPU Upgrades - AMD 7850
At the moment some people have already installed GTX 560ti's. Some have reported heat related crashes others say it works but temps are still high. Dell specifically said that only GPU's that use a max of 150w should be installed. Even though other cards with higher power requirements may work, you risk damaging your PSU, and possibly other parts also.
If anyone is looking to upgrade AMD will be releasing it's new 7800 series cards shortly. See link - http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-7870-review-benchmark,3148.html
The AMD 7850 uses a maximum of 130w - less than the GTX 555 in the x51. It also runs very cool, it's performance matches that of a GTX 570.
This is the safest upgrade right now until Nvidia release there GTX 650 and 660. They most likely will release it end of year or early 2013.
Just thought i would post this as some people are getting ahead of themselves and thinking about installing cards that use over 150w. It's just silly and your going to mess up your system in the long run.
I will personally buy the 7850 and post a youtube vid of some tests and instillation, check back here in a month and i'll post the vid.

I agree is the best choice and what would be better is if we could fit the AMD 7850 OC edition because has a much better cooling (cross fingers it will work) Im also waiting for that

I'm confused being told the AMD 7850 and AMD7870 will only draw 150w but the specs on the website call for a required 400w? A little help here thanks

@dropCLO
I understand what your saying, that is for a full tower desktop with a full size motherboard and larger case fans etc. The X51 is very power efficient and will run this 100 percent okay with 330w.
I have the 7850 installed already no problems. Some users also have 7870's and GTX 670's installed they work also but they run much hotter/louder.
AMD syaing 400w is only a "reccomendation" if the 55 runs and has a max power draw of 150w fthen offcourse a card with a max power draw of 130w will work.
