Dell Optiplex 3020 Wake On Lan
Hello - I am trying to deploy dell wake on lan on all of our Dell computers.
Currently, We have Dell 780, 390, 3010 and 3020.
The configurations are as followed.
wakeonlanbootovd - Disable
Embnic1 - On
Wakeonlan - enable
Blocks3 - disable
Deppsleepctrl - disable
I run the exe on the machine. I turn off the computer and the machine will not wake up. However, if i boot into bios ( Dont change any options) and exit and turn off the machine, the machine will wake with the magic packet.
Btw, Only allow magic packet to wake the computer unchecked. I tried this option and the machine still didnt wake uo.
No Events found!

What version of BIOS is running on the 3020?
Latest version is A09, and the prior version (A08) fixed a WOL issue, though I don't know if it fixes your specific issue.
BIOS updates are cumulative so you only need to flash the latest A09 version. Read and follow the flash instructions carefully.

Hi - The bios was updated to the A09 version.
I took a look at your link. I'm not sure what the "AWIEBO plugin" is. I am using Dell Command | Configure to create my executable and Wake On Lan - Magic Packet to wake the machine.
Again, the executable works. It changes the configurations in bios. However, the Machine will only wake up after i boot into bios!
This will cause a problem in deploying the executable to all Dell Machine Org wide. I can't go into bios in every machine. We have 32 sites around the US.
Willing to try anything

I don't know what the AWIEBO plugin is either but was worth asking if you're using it.
I'll ping my Dell tech contacts for help...

Thanks. If there is another solution to Deploy Wake on Lan, please point me in the right direction.

Check out this thread on techie-blog.
It's about a different Dell system with WOL issues, but maybe it has some tidbit that might point you in the right direction...

You're welcome. Hope you find a fix for WOL in that thread.
Please let everyone here know what happens. I'm sure there are others out there with a similar problem.
