Window start up sound
I have a 2012 Dell XPS 27 non touch screen. I tried turning off the windows log on sound. but everything it tried did not work. i have already tried going into "change system sounds" and unchecked "play windows startup sound". I also changed the sound scheme to "no sounds".
It still plays the windows startup sound "whoooooop".
I also tried deleting the wave file, but the PC will not let me do that. I'm logged on as administrator

Hi Firealarm808,
You may try the following steps:
Click Start –> Control Panel –> Hardware and Sound –> Sound (or just search for Sound in Start and click Sound under Control Panel). Go to the Sounds tab.
Here you can control all different system sounds like, Startup Sound, Shutdown Sound, Windows Logoff, Windows Logon etc. If you want to disable any of the sounds, just choose the Program Event and choose None from Sounds drop down menu. Click on Apply -> Ok.
Please reply if you have any questions.

Hello,
I previously tried what you have suggested
Windows appears to be ignoring the sound control window
Thanks
