Dell Latitude D630 - Hard Disk

Dell Team,

I have been using Dell Lattitude D630 laptop 4+ years. Now I got "Internal Hard disk not found" error very frequently. So, I decided to change the hard disk on my laptop. Please share some supported hard disk links? Also, I would like to upgrade the HDD from 80GB to 320 / 500 GB ? will it work or should i purchase 80Gb only? Need your advise

* Also, I would like to bring 1 more laptop for my daily usage. Could you please suggest which one is best from Dell. please recommand

Hello Aravi,

Please click hereto get the hard drive for the Latitude D630. It has the option of 320 GB 5400 RPM Serial ATA Hard Drive and 500 GB Serial ATA Hard Drive. You can choose from any one of them and upgrade the system.

Regarding the laptop that you want for your daily use, you can look into the range of Inspiron 15R Laptops or Inspiron 15z Ultrabook. Any of them would definitely serve your purpose.

Hope you find this information helpful. Please write back if you have any further queries, would be glad to assist you further.

Hi Allan,

Thanks for your swift response. Once i click the link its re-directed to the US site. I cant find the same product under Indian dell site. Could you please provide the link to purchase in India.

Hi Aravi,

That is right the links were for United States. Those hard drivers are not available in Indian website. However you can get any 2.5" Form Factor hard drives from any local store or online shopping. Here are the same hard drives which were on the US Dell site: 500 GB Serial ATA Hard Drive and 320 GB Serial ATA Hard Drive. You may choose any one of them or if you want you may order them from any local store.

Personally I would put a Crucial v4 into the unit:

The M4 is a waste of money on that model as it a 6 GB/s drive and the computer runs at 3 GB/s. The V4 runs at 3 GB/s.

This will improve the performance of the D630.

Hello

I hve thesame model (Latitude D630). my HD is fine, i just want to replace it with a new one

based on my service tag, the dell support center (over the phone) told me that my pc cn handle as much as 160GB of hard drive. is that correct? i'm interesting in buying the WD Scorpio Blue 500GB but according to what i've been told - it won't work.

would like to her your opinion

thanks

First of all Dell parts and upgrades are selling 320 GB drives so what you have been told is absolute nonsense:

Crucial are selling 1 TB hard drives or Solid State Drives:

http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Latitude%20D630&Cat=RAM

It should be fine.
