Inspiron 6000 doesnt boot up
I recently purchased a refurbished inspiron 6000. I got it yesterday and was pretty happy as it booted up and I played around for a bit. I went ahead and installed a game or two, rebooted...all is well. Played a bit and then left it alone for a while. When I came back the screen was off and looked powered down. I assumed it was in hibernation as I didnt touch any of the settings. So I press the power to kick it back up....the power light lights up and the hard drive light flicks a few times but nothing happens. Nothing more...no more harddrive activity. So I wait a few minutes and power down and turn it on again. Same thing...a green power light a few harddrive clicks and nothing. I do this about 10 times before I am just about to give up...then success. So I figure, something is wrong with my standby/hibernate settings so I just go ahead and disable them. I mess around a little longer and power down for the night. This morning I wake up and same thing...no boot. This is really starting to make me think its something hardware related as it really doesnt have anytime to load any software...maybe something in the BIOS but it really doesnt even looks like it gets that far. I plan on calling Dell tonight but I just wanted to see if anyone else had an idea. Thanks for any help.
btw...im running windows XP home
