Lid closed

Is there a way to disable this behavior of my laptop display. When I close the lid, the monitors powers down after a couple of seconds. Is there a bios settings, that disables this? I really need this one, because sometimes the display simply refuses to resume, after I reopen it, so I'd rather set it manually in the OS, instead of the BIOS handling that.

I don't know if your laptop is like this, but on mine I can change what mine does when I close it by...

go to screen saver tab in the display properties,

power

then once in power options properties, go to advanced and you can change what it does when you close it, hit suspend, or press the power button.

I know about this, but I wanted to know if there is a BIOS setting about it.

there's no way to disable it on BIOS. you may want to check the suspend switch that is being pushed when you close the lid. what type of system is this anyway?

It's an Inspiron 8200.

I wanted to make sure I'm not missing something obvious in the BIOS. How could DELL not put this setting in the BIOS? It is very annoying sometimes;(
