I myself went to my "Manage your systems" page on Dell, and entered the service tag. It shows up as in Inspiron 1150! I don't know how the Chat customer support person "Joseph" told me that the service tag corresponds to an Inspiron 8600!!!

And it says it's shipped on 7/22/2004!!! What did that poor guy get? maybe he got a wonderful system instead of Inspiron 1150!
The laptop I needed to send in has the service tag 40BW421.
I've shipped back the Inspiron 1150, and I was told that the correct laptop would be sent out once they receive it. The Dispatch Number given to me is 047883852.
I double checked the service tag and the DPS number and it looks like you are being taken care. Currently it is in Issue Status and it is listed that it may take 7-10 Business Days for you to get your system. I will do my best to keep an eye on this, feel free to PM me to have me check the status on this.

"Joseph" tells me that in his database, the service tag shows up as Inspiron 8600.
