Service Tag unique values
Hey All,
I am trying to determine by the Service Tag values which type of machine I am dealing with. e.g. I have a Latitude D600, D610, D800, and D810. I am parsing the Service Tag from the BIOS so that I can automate some internal processes. What I really need to know is how to determine via the Service Tag number the '10' model vs the '00' model. How unique are the Service Tag values anyway? For example, would I ever run into an issue with two D610's having the same Service Tag?
Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

A correct assumption.
I only base that on the fact that when you enter one of your service tags
it brings up a specific unit and all the details related to that unit.
My Dells are too far apart for me to see any 'code' to them. You, with
access to several closely related units are in a better position to
spot that relationship.
