USB stuck in USB port in new Inspiron 17 5767. No help yet on how to remove it. Any ideas?
Used online chat and 2 x phone calls to tech help. No suggestions from them yet on how to fix the problem on 2 week old new laptop. USB came from my old Dell Inspiron, came out of port easily and went into new port easily, but cannot be removed.

Exactly what is stuck? The connector, or the entire device? If device, what device? Mouse? Flash drive?

If the system is in warranty, your best bet is likely to contact Dell -- this won't be covered by warranty, but it should run $150 or so in labor -- vs. the possibility you may damage the port or mainboard trying it yourself, and be on the hook for a $400-500 repair. If you do decide to try to free the part, unplug the system AND disconnect the battery before proceeding - the USB port will likely have power as long as the battery is in the system and you may short something if you try to remove the connector yourself.

The metal surround from around the outside of a wifi dongle (usb). It's the dongle from my Wacom bamboo tablet. When I tried to remove it, it was jammed in, so pulled on it firmly and the top of the dongle came off leaving the metal surround still stuck in the usb port
