well ihave 3 of these dell 2407fpw sitting here and all 3 are same in heat. fairly warm whentouched at the top after about an hour but not at all "too hot" i mean i can put my hand on top of the monitor forever and it wont be uncomfortable... and the LCD screen does emit a little warm heat but only feel this when i put my face real close up to the screen. so maybe you have a bad monitor... i think i heard someone having the same issue

In sunny Greece, things are worse. The room is hot enough as it is, but the LCD contributes more to the heat than the PC itself! It is a China made A02 revision.

Yes, I can touch it on top, but it is still unpleasantly hot. Used to have a Dell 1900FP and did not heat at all.

So, do not take it personally. This feature should come in handy during winter. They should definitely add BTU heat in the specifications sheet.

So, to wrap up:
1. heat
2. banding
3. excessive contrast
4. uneven white from right to left side

Overall, it is nice for games. But we should expect a rev. A03 and a replacement plan....

Regards

I have the same issue - its a cold room and -

1) the top of the monitor is uncomfortably hot

2) I can feel it radiating to my face.

3) - after long sessions, the day after!! my face still feels hot from the last session - and in fact hot, and flushed red.

I have never experienced this before in my life. - I am very concerned. - I will be changing monitors back to my 19" to see if the redness in my face goes away - however if this is caused by a fault in the monitor etc, hmm. lawyer anyone?

(seriously I am afraid its giving me a radiation burn)
