P2721Q vs P2723QE
Hello,
I'm Apple user (with Mac mini M1 & MacBook M1 Pro) and before you jump to the fact that P series not support officially. In past 2 years I used P2721Q until last week that suddenly during the work the screen has been shutdown and not turn on again. I got to assume it's some electrical shortage. I had a luck that monitor still was under warranty. Due the old model I got as replacement new monitor - P2723QE.
I saw that P2721Q has a firmware update for macOS. The P2723QE have only for Windows. Is there a special reason? it's basically same monitor just with hub (or dock should I call it).
If I still wish to update the monitor firmware, can I connect a Windows laptop and install the update and then return back to Mac mini?
Thanks.

The monitor manufacturer decides which operating system they will write a firmware to be run in, not Dell.
Yes, disconnect all macOS systems from the P2723QE, connect the P2723QE to a Windows OS system and then run the firmware update.
But first enter the P2723QE Menu- Others and confirm that you currently have an older firmware installed.

but the monitor manufacturer is Dell no?
* Nope. None of us (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.) build monitors. We buy from four different monitor manufacturer. Just like none of us "build" a motherboard, SSD, or ram.
after the update if i returning the macOS connection the monitor still work with the new FW update?
* That is an unknown. The P series was never tested by us in macOS. In theory it should work.

i'm just wondering why on P2721Q was a apple FW update and it's not available on P2723QE. (it's same model)
after the update if i returning the macOS connection the monitor still work with the new FW update?
