P2723QE, when both DP and HDMI connected, HDMI problem

Hi,

I just got a new Dell 27 4K USB-C Hub Monitor- P2723QE-68.6cm(27").

Before I used to have an old HP monitor.

I have an HP EliteBook and an MSI Titan laptop.

When I used the HP monitor I never had any problems with both laptops connected to the HP monitor at the same time and when I wanted to switch between the laptops I just pressed on the front panel of the HP monitor to select the input I wanted without any problem.

However now with the new Dell monitor I seem to have problems with the HDMI input.

It says no HDMI input signal detected from the device.

The "solution" that always works is to unplug the Displayport from the monitor and then the monitor detects the HDMI input which seems very strange to me.

If I connect the Displayport then I cannot switch back to the HDMI input because the monitor does not detect any signal from the HDMI input again.

The display setting on the HP laptop that is connected to the Dell monitor via Displayport is "Extend these monitors" so that I can use both the HP laptops own screen and the Dell monitor screen.

The MSI laptop setting is to only show on the Dell monitor.
