S2716DG, problem with BurnIn mode
I recently bought an S2716DG monitor around black Friday. It worked fine the first week and a half that I had it and was using it. After that period of time any time my computer would turn off display or go to sleep the monitor would go to Burn-In mode, which I found under the factory menu using Button 4. I turn off the mode and the screen goes black like it should. However each time I go into reset my color preferences / brightness levels and turn off burn in mode it resets itself if the computer goes to sleep or has the displays turned off. I have tried the methods in the troubleshooting page for the monitor but I cant seem to get the self test to appear it just keeps flashing the burn in colors. I have tried manually resetting to factory as well but that doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

First read through this to see our policy. Yes, get it exchanged.

Dell Policy = The FSM (Factory Service Menu) is only used by our Dell Service Centers. An end user should not be in the FSM. You could enable or disable something in there and break the monitor which is not covered by the warranty. The only menu you should be using to make changes is the end user OSD (On Screen Display).
That being said, the User's Guide makes no mention of BurnIn mode in the OSD. All of your color and brightness adjustments should be made in the OSD, not the FSM.
I would turn BurnIn mode off in the FSM. Exit saving the change. Open the OSD, go to Others- Factory Reset- Reset All Settings. Note; when you fully power the monitor off, then on, you will need to do the above steps again. So do not turn the monitor off, simply set the operating system to enable a screensaver.

I did not purposely go into the factory menu. when the issue started happening I hit menu button 4 rather than 3 to get into the OSD and the factory menu appeared, otherwise I wouldn't have not been in the menu. That is when I saw the Burn-In option. Only setting I changed because it stopped the colors from displaying. I did as you suggested turning off Burn-in and then went into OSD and did a factory reset. I will update the post if I have the issue occur again in the next few hours.

I turned on the computer this morning and the monitor reset all the OSD settings and the Burn In was flashing the colors on the screen again. Shall I continue ahead and start an exchange process?
