S2817Q, vertical lines appear randomly

Purchased June 12, 2017, warranty expired September 11, 2018.

It randomly gets color vertical lines as shown below =

If I turn the monitor off and on, it usually goes away for few minutes to hours and then reappears. I have two of these monitors, only one monitor started doing this.

It happens with when connected from a Windows laptop as well as a Mac, so not system or video card related.

The lines can be see when nothing is connected like on monitor setup screen =

Any idea how to solve this?

Have you damaged the monitor in any way such as electrical shock or drops?

Im looking at the photo and it’s weird how if anything displays on the screen vertical lines appear but can you try putting a full picture on?

Quick Tip: If your laptop has voltage / charging issues, try shutting it down, unplugging power from laptop, hold power button down for 30 seconds to do a full reset!

It has been used for a year or so, I noticed that the lines go away sometimes if I turn-on and off the monitor. It goes away for few minutes to hours and again the lines come back. I also noticed the line go away if I bang on the monitor few times with my hand.

Since it is intermittent that the lines are showing up, could there be some kind of connection issue that can be fixed?

It could possibly be a connector cable that might have something pressing on it but I think it’s something else as you said it disappears after a couple of power on’s and offs.
