S3220DGF, screen cracked, #9

Hi,

Is there way of figuring out how to get a replacement panel for my monitor?

I recently moved home and noticed that I have cracked the LCD panel. After a hugely dissappointing call with support they essentially told me that I should "purchase a new monitor". I have only had this monitor less than a year and really find it unbelievable that there is no repair sector of Dell for monitors. I understand that it is no longer under warranty becuase of how it broke. I understand that I wont get a replacement. What I don't understand is that Dell won't sell me the panel or where I can purchase one? After support team had offered me next to no help, I am now hoping the community can help me to source the actual panel and take it to my local computer repair store.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

To reiterate our policy and procedures for all in public, Dell has never "repaired" monitors. All we do is exchange them based on the warranty and policies involved. An exchange is never done for customer caused damage.

Dell does not sell monitor internal components like the LCD panel or provide monitor disassembly documentation. You would have to seek a local Monitor/TV repair center to search for the LCD panel on a 3rd party site. Then they could disassemble and repair.

Hi,

I understand your response, but my question is still unanswered and the same, can you tell me what the model number of the panel is?, there is nowhere this is detailed here (in the community) or in the documentation for the monitor, i cant even find it online, you may not have the individual components to sell but you still are the manufacture of the monitor, I find it strange that you dont have a list of internal components for the monitor noted anywhere.

not being able to get it fixed by dell is fine, not being able to get it fixed myself because dell wont tell me the component i need is not okay.

As mentioned earlier there is no specific part number for the panel of a monitor.

However, based on the warranty, we will proceed to replace if found any issues.

Hi Chris,

So when i follow this advice you have just handed me:

"You would have to seek a local Monitor/TV repair center to search for the LCD panel on a 3rd party site. Then they could disassemble and repair."

and i go to the repair shop, and they say to me "we cant find the panel anywhere online, we dont know anything about it, do you know what type of panel it is?" and i'll say "no, Dell told me there is no specific part number for the panel in the monitor they charged me £400 to buy from them.".

Can you tell me what the model number of the panel is?
* The model number is S3220DGF. The manufacturer is TVE (Top Victory Electronics).

you still are the manufacture of the monitor.
* Incorrect. We have Dell monitor manufacturer make the monitors for us based on our price point and specifications.
