U2722DE, stopped working shortly after warranty
My Dell U2722DE suddenly stopped displaying any picture. The monitor turns on, the backlight is visible, but the screen stays empty and even system menu does not appear. The day before the issue appeared, the monitor was working perfectly fine with no signs of problems, and the next day it just wouldn’t display anything.
Troubleshooting I have already tried:
- unplugged and reconnected all cables
- power cycled the monitor
- tested with different devices and inputs
- tried a different power outlet/cable
Unfortunately, the issue remains.
According to Dell website, the warranty expired around 1.5 months ago. I have been using and recommending Dell monitors for almost 10 years - they always worked great, but when this issue appeared and I contacted support, the local Dell department only suggested repair at my own cost, even though the fault happened shortly after warranty expiration. This situation is quite disappointing and frustrating.
Could someone please advise on possible solutions?
- Is repair available for this model?
- Is goodwill support or post-warranty extension possible?
- Has anyone experienced a similar situation?
Thank you in advance for any help!

- Is repair available for this model?
* Not through Dell. See = Dell does not have monitor repair service
- Is goodwill support or post-warranty extension possible?
* No. Once the purchased warranty has expired, Dell cannot send out a monitor exchange.
