U2723QE, can I daisy chain USB connections?

Dell U2723QE

Dell U2723QE

I have not seen this exact question in these chats: I have two U2723QE monitors. The first is connected to my desktop and the USB hub is connected as well. To activate the USB ports on the second monitor, do I have to connect it directly to the computer, or can a daisy chain to the first monitor? I tried daisy chaining but could not get it to work.

To use the USB ports (hub) on monitor, connect monitor upstream port #8 to the computer.  See the ports descriptions and functions in the monitor user guide  https://dl.dell.com/content/manual12109242-dell-u2723qe-monitor-user-s-guide.pdf?language=en-us

To activate the USB ports on the second monitor, do I have to connect it directly to the computer?

* Yes, via the USB-C upstream port to USB-C to USB-A cable to PC USB-A port.

Note that the monitors themselves are not daisy chained. Each one is connected to the desktop.

You can do it either way.

@Chino de Oro Thanks for answering my question. What I am trying to do is then use that hub to connect to a second hub - my other monitor. Can I daisy chain, or do I have to connect the second monitor directly to my computer in order to use that hub?
